Gynaecological cancers account for about 10% of cancers in women and 9% of cancer deaths. In other words, 90% don’t make it!
At the same time, many researchers are forced to direct their careers to other cancers, such as breast or prostate, because historically much more charity money is available for research in these areas. Consequently, the survival rates for many other forms of cancer is higher than that of Gynaecological cancer patients.
So, it is no wonder that we felt so compelled to partner with the AGCF, and contribute towards the foundation’s efforts by delivering technology support and advice. We are incredibly proud to be supporting such a worthy cause, and as the letter below says, they are very happy to be working with us too!
About AGCF: The Australian Gynaecological Cancer Foundation is the only Australian foundation focused purely on funding laboratory research into all gynaecological cancers. By providing research grants to Australia’s best and brightest minds, they aim to find new ways to screen, treat and conquer gynae cancers. All profits from fundraising initiatives and all monies raised from donations go towards the AGCF research grant, funding brilliant minds focused on conquering gynae cancers.
